This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and implement revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606, which entails analyzing intricate customer contracts, SOWs, amendments, and non-standard deal structures.
• Execute and supervise monthly revenue closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Act as the main escalation point for revenue-related decisions and provide recommendations grounded in policy.
• Collaborate with the Billing department to ensure alignment between invoicing and revenue recognition, addressing any discrepancies that arise.
• Lead monthly reviews analyzing revenue trends, identifying anomalies, and assessing risks.
• Work closely with FP&A to enhance revenue forecasting and clarify variances.
• Partner with Business Systems to implement, enhance, and address revenue-impacting system modifications.
• Drive initiatives for process documentation, standardization, and automation.
• Maintain and improve revenue accounting policies, templates, and playbooks.
• Facilitate external audits by managing revenue-related audit areas and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Mentor junior members of the accounting team.
• Contribute to special projects focused on systems, process optimization, and accounting policy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5–7+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or a similar role.
• Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of ASC 606.
• Capability to apply ASC 606 guidelines to complex, real-world situations.
• Understanding of point-in-time versus over-time revenue recognition patterns and the impact of contract terms on revenue timing.
• Experience with ERP and billing systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities during close cycles, and demonstrate sound accounting judgment.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
