Junior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive bookkeeping and ensure accurate financial documentation

• Administer payroll processing with precision and timeliness

• Generate and distribute invoices, monitor receivables, and pursue outstanding payments

• Handle both accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards

• Produce monthly financial statements, including profit & loss reports and balance sheets

• Assist in the establishment and enhancement of accounting systems, financial procedures, internal controls, and standard operating practices

• Guarantee adherence to relevant accounting standards, tax obligations, and company regulations

• Keep well-organized financial documentation and records

• Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and management as necessary

• Aid in month-end and year-end closing processes

• Track cash flow and deliver financial insights to management

• Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and expense analysis

• Prepare cost estimates and customer quotes when needed

• Recognize opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and financial reporting

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline

• 2 to 5 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping

• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Experience in payroll processing

• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, Sage, or equivalent platforms

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while effectively collaborating with a Canadian team

• Previous experience with Canadian companies or knowledge of Canadian accounting practices is preferred

• Familiarity with Canadian payroll, GST/HST, and financial reporting standards is preferred

• Experience in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses is preferred

• Background in creating customer quotations, pricing models, and project cost estimates is preferred

• Knowledge of process improvement and financial automation tools is preferred
