Senior Retention Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Implements programs that cater to the needs of the organization, its employees, or its customers.

• Engages in all facets of corporate programs, such as planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance evaluation.

• Advocates for the program throughout the organization and monitors its utilization.

• Oversees the activities of program or project staff to ensure timely completion of tasks according to established standards or specifications.

• Assesses program effectiveness by gathering and analyzing data to support key performance metrics.

• Ensures that activities comply with organizational policies and relevant external regulations.

• Delivers reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

• Facilitates the weekly cross-functional retention workgroup by setting agendas, guiding discussions, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring accountability for initiatives and follow-up actions focused on retention.

• Assists in leading other retention-related workgroups and meetings as required.

• Reviews, analyzes, and compiles retention performance insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into actionable recommendations for leadership and cross-functional partners.

• Aids in establishing annual retention goals and monitors progress, identifying deviations early with insights into the reasons for any goal misses.

• Collaborates with market and network teams to pinpoint retention opportunities, assess drivers of disenrollment risk, and support coordinated action plans that enhance member experience and retention outcomes.

• Designs and manages retention campaigns, events, and activities from conception to execution, including campaign strategy, target population planning, timelines, stakeholder coordination, and readiness activities.

• Prepares executive-ready summaries, presentations, and recommendations that effectively communicate retention strategy, campaign outcomes, operational progress, and emerging opportunities to leadership audiences.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

• 5-7 years of relevant experience; previous experience in retention, strategy, sales/growth, or payer operations is preferred.

• Business Insight – Utilizes an understanding of retention strategy, payer operations, and business drivers to guide decisions and recommendations.

• Drives Results – Sets goals, monitors performance, and proactively addresses risks to attain retention outcomes.

• Data & Analytical Acumen – Leverages data to identify trends, assess performance, highlight risks, and produce actionable insights.

• Program and Project Management – Effectively coordinates multiple initiatives, timelines, dependencies, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement.

• Member Focus – Centers retention strategies, decisions, and improvement efforts around the member experience.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Fosters strong partnerships across teams, aligns stakeholders, and drives coordinated actions to support retention outcomes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive-ready summaries, presentations, and stakeholder communications.

• Capability to design, implement, and monitor campaigns, workflows, and outreach strategies from inception to execution.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage documentation, reporting, and follow-up actions accurately and punctually.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to assist with analysis, reporting, and presentations.

• Interest in AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies that can enhance analysis, streamline workflows, and improve member outcomes.
