This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Deliver post-sales assistance for HPE networking products.
• Engage with customers daily, either remotely or at their locations.
• Provide technical and operational solutions for network issues, certification, and testing.
• Comprehend customer organizational frameworks as well as network implementation and support procedures.
• Conduct workshops to gather network information, understanding both existing and new network designs.
• Evaluate new tools, features, functionalities, patches, and software fixes in lab and network settings.
• Create implementation and verification strategies for deploying live networks.
• Facilitate technology workshops, address equipment and network challenges, and offer updates on case statuses.
• Assist in the design and planning of Juniper MX, QFX, EX series, and related solutions.
• Establish best-practice policies for applications of Juniper/HPE products.
• Share insights with fellow Resident Engineers to reduce risks associated with upgrades and network changes.
• Cultivate secondary skills in other HPE products.
• Liaise with internal JTAC, escalation, engineering teams, and customers.
• Analyze trends to enhance the efficiency of customer network solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of experience in implementing and providing technical support for networking products.
• Experience in LAN, WAN, or Internet services environments.
• Background in a technology vendor or service provider setting.
• JNCIE/CCIE Service Provider or equivalent JUNOS CLI experience with MX, QFX, and EX series.
• Proficient in IP/routing with OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS-TE, RSVP, LDP, IPv6, and routing policy.
• Understanding of routing protocol operations, migration, and scaling methodologies.
• Knowledge of routing policies at BGP peering points.
• Familiarity with VPNs and tunneling technologies such as MPLS, EVPN, L3VPN, and VPLS.
• Acquainted with Ethernet switching, 802.1Q, and QoS.
• Understanding of software-defined networking concepts.
• Strong interpersonal, customer-facing, presentation, communication, and project management abilities.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficient in managing multiple projects while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Programming and scripting skills are preferred, including Python, Ruby, shell, awk, or SLAX.
• Familiarity with management tools and network analyzers.
• Understanding of protocols prevalent in IP service-provider networks.
• Knowledge of BGP and route-reflector architectures.
• Scripting capabilities in SLAX, Python, or Ansible.
• Experience in cloud architecture.
• Database experience is advantageous.
• Availability for occasional on-call weekend support and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
