This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Deliver post-sales technical and operational assistance for HPE Network Products.
• Engage with customers daily, either remotely or at their location.
• Address network-related issues, ongoing certifications, and testing initiatives.
• Comprehend the customer's organizational structure along with their network implementation and support procedures.
• Conduct workshops to gather network information and grasp technical specifications for new network designs.
• Evaluate new tools, features, functionalities, patches, and fixes in laboratory and pre-production settings.
• Create implementation and verification strategies for live network rollouts.
• Facilitate technology workshops to address equipment and network challenges and provide updates on case statuses.
• Assist in the design and planning of Juniper MX, QFX, EX series, and related solutions.
• Establish best-practice policies for the application of Juniper/HPE products.
• Collaborate with other Resident Engineers to share insights and mitigate risks associated with upgrades and network changes.
• Acquire secondary skills in other offerings within the HPE product portfolio.
• Communicate with internal JTAC, escalation, engineering teams, and customers.
• Provide occasional on-call weekend support and extend working hours when necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in implementing and providing technical support for networking products in LAN, WAN, or Internet services contexts.
• Background in a technology vendor or service provider setting.
• JNCIE/CCIE Service Provider certification or equivalent JUNOS CLI experience with MX, QFX, and EX series.
• Proficient in IP/routing with expertise in OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS-TE, RSVP, LDP, IPv6, and routing policy.
• Familiarity with routing protocol operations, migration, and scaling strategies.
• Experience handling routing policies at BGP peering locations.
• Understanding of VPNs and tunneling technologies such as MPLS, EVPN, L3VPN, and VPLS.
• Knowledge of Ethernet switching, 802.1Q, and QoS.
• Insight into Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
• Capability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting.
• Strong customer interaction and presentation abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and maintain composure under pressure.
• Familiarity with management tools and network analysis applications.
• Understanding of protocols relevant to IP service-provider networks.
• Comprehension of BGP and route-reflector architectures.
• Effective and technical communication skills with internal JTAC, escalation, and engineering teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Experience in cloud architecture.
• Preferred programming and scripting experience in Python, Ruby, shell, awk, and SLAX.
• Scripting proficiency in SLAX, Python, and Ansible.
• Database experience is a plus.
