This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Provide technical and operational support following the sale of HPE network products.
• Engage daily with customers either remotely or on-site.
• Assist with network issues, ongoing certification, and testing initiatives.
• Gain an understanding of the customer’s organization, network implementation, and support processes.
• Lead workshops to gather network information and comprehend technical requirements for new designs.
• Evaluate new tools, features, functionalities, patches, and software fixes in laboratory, pre-production, and live network settings.
• Create implementation and verification plans.
• Conduct technology workshops, address equipment and network challenges, and provide updates on case status along with workarounds or solutions.
• Assist in the design and planning of Juniper MX, QFX, EX series, and related solutions.
• Promote best-practice policies for Juniper/HPE product applications.
• Collaborate with other Resident Engineers to mitigate risks related to network upgrades or modifications.
• Develop additional skills in other HPE product lines.
• Liaise with internal JTAC, escalation, engineering teams, and customers.
• Oversee multiple projects and identify associated risks.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of experience in providing implementation and technical support for networking products in LAN, WAN, or Internet services environments.
• Experience in a technology vendor or service provider setting.
• JNCIE or CCIE Service Provider certification, or equivalent JUNOS CLI proficiency with MX, QFX, and EX series.
• Expert knowledge of IP/routing, including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS-TE, RSVP, LDP, IPv6, and routing policies.
• Understanding of routing protocol operations, migration, and scaling techniques.
• Familiarity with routing policies at BGP peering points.
• Experience with VPNs and tunneling technologies such as MPLS, EVPN, L3VPN, and VPLS.
• Knowledge of Ethernet switching, 802.1Q, and QoS.
• Understanding of software-defined networking concepts.
• Strong interpersonal, customer interaction, and presentation abilities.
• Capability to break down tasks to meet project objectives.
• Proficient in communicating project status and identifying risks.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Skilled in managing multiple projects and maintaining composure under pressure.
• Experience in cloud architecture.
• Knowledge of BGP and route reflector topologies.
• Effective communication skills with internal JTAC, escalation, and engineering teams, as well as with customers.
• Scripting skills are preferred, including Slax, Python, and Ansible.
• Familiarity with management tools and network analyzers.
• Skills in trend analysis.
• Database experience is a plus.
