This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Guide clients in the strategic use of Honeycomb and observability methodologies to achieve their technical and business objectives.
• Influence the organization of clients’ telemetry data, ensuring it is well-structured, governed, and effectively utilized.
• Collaborate with Customer Success Managers and Account Executives to convey Honeycomb’s value proposition, vision, and strategic direction.
• Provide expert advice on telemetry schema design and data modeling practices.
• Develop expertise in Sampling and the operational aspects of Honeycomb Refinery sampling.
• Educate, coach, and mentor engineering teams and leaders on observability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, and best practices for instrumentation.
• Counsel clients on telemetry ownership, standards, documentation, naming conventions, and attribution methods.
• Diagnose and implement technical and sociotechnical solutions to customer challenges.
• Create reusable training materials, presentations, blog articles, white papers, demos, and reference architectures.
• Act as the voice of the customer in internal Engineering and Product Management discussions.
• Keep abreast of Honeycomb technologies, products, and the broader observability landscape.
• Profound knowledge of OpenTelemetry, including its projects, components, SDKs, and overall ecosystem.
• Solid grasp of telemetry data modeling, event schemas, cardinality, and long-term queryability.
• Capability to comprehend application architecture and flow for optimal instrumentation.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
• Practical experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, such as CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
• Prior experience in Software Development or System Operations.
• Strong preference for experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, or .NET.
• Exceptional written and verbal technical communication skills, tailored to engineering teams and technical leadership.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
