This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a team of researchers to achieve outstanding client results while taking direct ownership and executing high-impact, complex research projects.
• Ensure successful outcomes across the team’s portfolio of accounts and act as the primary point of escalation for client and project issues.
• Structure and enhance team operations to promote high performance, accountability, and quality standards.
• Mentor, develop, and inspire team members while contributing to broader research processes and operational frameworks.
• Guarantee that the research team meets customer research goals and adheres to Knit’s Quality & Speed service-level agreements.
• Hold ultimate responsibility for the success of research projects within the team of Research Directors and Research Managers.
• Manage personnel matters, including performance evaluations, clarity in roles, accountability, hiring, onboarding, skill development, conflict resolution, and team morale enhancement.
• Conduct and document thorough project scoping while building clients’ Research Context Libraries.
• Function as a strategic problem solver, research subject matter expert, and solutions architect for high-potential prospects and clients.
• Collaborate with Sales on scoping discussions, capabilities presentations, proposal contributions, and new business dialogues.
• Foster continuous product innovation by providing customer delivery feedback to the product team and identifying gaps in AI output and last-mile quality.
• Encourage the research team to adopt Knit’s product as new workflows and tools are introduced.
• A minimum of 10 years of market research experience, including at least 3 years in a team management role, primarily on the supplier side within a market research agency.
• Proven experience leading discovery and scoping discussions.
• Expertise in writing and editing quantitative and qualitative questionnaires from the ground up.
• Experience in drafting analysis plans.
• Proficient in creating and presenting stakeholder-ready insights, topline summaries, and reports.
• Ability to propel initiatives and deliver results in ambiguous settings.
• A demonstrated history of successfully operating in an early-stage startup with fewer than 50 employees is advantageous.
• Established record of managing client relationships with Enterprise and Fortune 500 US-based companies, specifically collaborating with insights professionals to define and achieve research goals, leading to customer retention and growth.
• Capability to manage initiatives and outcomes in situations with competing priorities, multiple simultaneous research projects, and internal business demands.
• Strong people management skills, including fostering clarity and accountability, hiring, onboarding, performance management, conflict resolution, and team morale building.
