This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develops and refines Jasper Reports to meet the education data reporting requirements at the state level.
• Designs, implements, and maintains Oracle SQL and PL/SQL database components.
• Conducts in-depth analysis to enhance reports and the associated database.
• Resolves intricate reporting and data-related challenges.
• Offers strategic guidance on reporting and data analysis projects.
• Oversees project scope and delivers continuous updates on project status.
• Executes data aggregation and analysis to ensure accurate reporting.
• Engages in the development and unit testing of code modifications.
• Documents procedures, code alterations, and reporting solutions.
• Actively participates in Agile development processes and adheres to the established SDLC framework for scheduled releases.
• Works in collaboration with various agency stakeholders to guarantee the precision and effectiveness of reports.
• Provides support to the Texas Education Agency on the IT-SEDS initiative.
• 8 years of experience in Jasper Reports development.
• 8 years of experience in unit testing.
• 8 years of experience in an Agile work environment.
• 5 years of experience in designing, coding, and maintaining Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with JIRA/Bitbucket is preferred, ideally with 5 years of experience.
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Capability to conduct advanced data aggregation and analysis.
• Preference for candidates located in Texas.
• Must be available to work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding state holidays when the agency is closed.
• Remote work / telework options available.
• Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Excludes state holidays when the agency is closed.
