This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
β’ Conduct testing and regular maintenance on transmission and distribution substation power equipment, relaying, pilot channel devices, controls, and communication systems.
β’ Analyze and interpret substation diagrams, including single-line drawings, AC/DC schematics, panel wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
β’ Assist in drafting procedures and test plans for maintenance and construction projects.
β’ Evaluate relay voltage and current inputs, metering, alarms, function switches, and local/SCADA trip operations.
β’ Diagnose and repair substation relaying and control systems.
β’ Oversee the commissioning of new substations, power equipment, relaying, pilot channel systems, controls, and communication apparatus.
β’ Organize, schedule, and execute testing activities efficiently and punctually, ensuring no service disruptions.
β’ Offer technical project support to Field Service personnel.
β’ At least 5 years of hands-on experience in commissioning, panel and equipment verification, relay calibration, testing, and repairing substation relaying and control systems.
β’ Preferred experience in substation design, construction, commissioning, and SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment setup and testing.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of three-phase power systems and power system protection and control strategies.
β’ Familiarity with testing equipment and associated software.
β’ Proficient in using test equipment and tools/wiring.
β’ Capability to interpret wiring and elementary diagrams.
β’ Basic testing skills to execute the responsibilities listed.
β’ Fundamental PC abilities.
β’ Quick learner with the capacity to apply test procedures for various types of substation equipment.
β’ Strong communication skills to engage effectively with diverse groups, adapting messages to the audience and context.
β’ Ability to grasp and implement clientsβ switching protocols and safety standards.
β’ Competence in referencing and completing tasks according to relevant specifications.
β’ Willingness to perform fieldwork both indoors and outdoors.
β’ Excellent interpersonal, communication, business insight, and management abilities.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
β’ Valid driverβs license and a clean driving record.
β’ Effective communication skills in English, encompassing reading and writing, due to safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
