Senior Reinsurance Underwriting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of Reinsurance Underwriters

• Ensure adherence to internal guidelines, regulatory standards, and expectations from rating agencies in underwriting practices

• Supervise team workflow, capacity management, and service quality

• Direct the underwriting process for a portfolio of treaty submissions

• Serve as a senior underwriter for key accounts

• Develop, manage, and enhance relationships with essential brokers and ceding companies

• Track portfolio performance through key performance indicators (KPIs)

• Support or spearhead special initiatives such as the development of new products

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field

• Advanced degree in business or a quantitative discipline (e.g., MBA, Financial Engineering, Economics, etc.)

• Over 15 years of experience in underwriting treaty reinsurance

• More than 5 years of experience in leading or mentoring underwriters

• Proven success in underwriting U.S. P&C treaty business

• Experience in building and managing relationships with brokers and clients

• Comprehensive knowledge of insurance industry products, services, and business practices

• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities

• In-depth understanding of U.S. regulatory and rating agency requirements
