Senior Reinsurance Underwriting Manager

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of Reinsurance Underwriters.

• Ensure that underwriting practices align with internal policies, regulatory standards, and the expectations of rating agencies.

• Supervise team workflow, capacity, and service benchmarks.

• Direct the underwriting process for a portfolio of treaty submissions.

• Act as a senior underwriter on significant accounts.

• Develop, manage, and enhance relationships with key brokers and ceding companies.

• Monitor portfolio performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Assist or spearhead special initiatives such as new product development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.

• Graduate degree in business or a quantitative discipline (e.g., MBA, Financial Engineering, Economics, etc.).

• Over 15 years of experience in underwriting treaty reinsurance.

• More than 5 years of experience in leading or mentoring underwriters.

• Proven history of underwriting U.S. Property & Casualty treaty business.

• Experience in building and managing relationships with brokers and clients.

• In-depth knowledge of insurance industry products, services, and business practices.

• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. regulatory and rating agency considerations.
