
Senior Refuel Floor Specialist – Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee and direct maintenance operations on the BWR Refuel Floor, which includes Reactor Disassembly, Reassembly, and In Vessel Maintenance.
• Facilitate the safe execution of intricate BWR 2-6 Refuel Floor outage projects and related activities.
• Manage all facets of projects from Initial Task Order (ITO) to Outage Task Report (OTR).
• Spearhead project delivery planning, transition strategies, risk assessment, mitigation, and contingency planning.
• Mentor and lead diverse multidisciplinary teams, including GEH personnel and contingent workers, encompassing craft labor.
• Directly oversee both union and non-union staff engaged in BWR Refuel Floor outage maintenance.
• Provide technical insights for commercial proposals concerning labor quantities, hours, tooling, and logistics.
• Engage with senior management from both customers and suppliers on commercial, execution, technical, and compliance matters.
• Assist in proposal creation, product development, growth initiatives, and the development and delivery of training.
• Offer subject matter expertise on reactor maintenance, in-vessel tooling, and GEH Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment.
• Ensure that high-quality deliverables align with customer expectations, business procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Promote the adherence to standard GVH processes and procedural compliance across various projects.
• Provide support for off-season Spent Fuel Pool cleanup and Dry Cask Storage initiatives.
• Teach GVH Technical Training courses.
• Undertake additional tasks as dictated by business requirements.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with 5–7 years of experience in BWR Refuel Floor Outage Maintenance, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience as a Refuel Floor Lead Technical Director, Refuel Floor Project Manager, Outage Manager, or a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in project management.
• Must possess the ability and willingness to travel over 70% of the time to both domestic and international customer sites.
• Capability and readiness to support Spent Fuel Pool cleanup and Dry Cask Storage campaigns.
• Willingness and ability to instruct GVH Technical Training courses.
• Should be able and willing to meet Fitness for Duty and site security requirements for unescorted access to U.S. and international nuclear plant facilities.
• Ability and readiness to work in radiation-controlled and radioactively contaminated environments.
• Must be able to pass respirator fit tests and physical examinations.
• Willingness to work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week during field assignments.
• Proven ability to manage effectively in high-stress situations.
• Previous experience in preparing and executing Refuel Floor outage scopes.
• Broader experience in nuclear plant operations or maintenance.
• Experience in PWR outage maintenance.
• Familiarity with Spent Fuel Pool Cleanup and Dry Cask Storage projects.
• Background in commercial activities, proposal development, and cost estimation.
• Extensive understanding of nuclear power plant refueling, maintenance, inspection, and modifications.
• Knowledge of BWR and PWR vessels and components, NSSS, and containment structures.
• Proficient computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, P6, PLM, and Oracle ERP.
• Strong skills in oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, and building relationships.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ownership of results, organization, and self-motivation.
• Eligibility to obtain U.S. Government authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable.
