Senior Real-Time VFX Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Engage in a proprietary third-party engine.

• Craft visually captivating and stylistically cohesive VFX utilizing a third-party VFX editor such as Popcorn FX.

• Develop pertinent VFX assets including textures, static meshes, and shaders.

• Collaborate with various creative disciplines and engineers to produce visual effects that enhance gameplay systems.

• Optimize effects for performance across multiple platforms.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the video game industry.

• Proficient in English.

• Capability to work independently, possessing a reflective approach to VFX creation and the ability to critically identify areas for improvement in your work.

• Competent in directly communicating with art directors, technical artists, engineers, and other cross-disciplinary team members to address issues, implementation, and resolve any obstacles.

• Extensive knowledge of animation and artistic principles (color, shape, ratio, timing, etc.).

• Solid understanding of artistic VFX principles.

• Expert-level experience with Unreal Engine.

• High proficiency in Popcorn FX.

• Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Proactive and receptive to discovering creative solutions.

• Skilled in independently and creatively resolving VFX technical challenges.

• Highly proficient with Photoshop, Substance, or other texture authoring tools.

• Experience with 3D software such as Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini for mesh creation.

• Capable of shader authoring using node-based editors like Shader Graph or Amplify Shader.

• Familiarity with proprietary or third-party engines.

• Adaptable to learning new engines and tools.

• Knowledgeable in Houdini.

• Experience with Embergen/Liquigen.

• Basic programming skills in C#.

• Ability to create simple animations in 3D tools.

• Proficient in Substance Designer/Illugen or other texture authoring software.

• Experience with HLSL/GLSL for VFX shader development.
