This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.
• Oversee the complete execution of software development projects aimed at commercial release, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon scope, timelines, quality standards, and business goals.
• Create and uphold project plans, schedules, milestone timelines, dependency maps, risk management registers, issue tracking logs, resource allocation plans, decision records, and status updates.
• Direct projects utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies, implementing suitable planning, governance, and execution strategies tailored to each project and software development lifecycle (SDLC) process.
• Organize project planning sessions, sprint or increment planning, release planning, risk assessment reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder alignment meetings, as relevant to the chosen delivery model.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, and other stakeholders to establish project goals, deliverables, success metrics, and release timelines.
• Define, monitor, and communicate project-level KPIs, delivery metrics, and data-driven status reports that offer stakeholders clear visibility into project health, including progress against the plan, adherence to milestones, delivery risks, dependencies, outstanding decisions, resource impacts, and release readiness.
• Set up and maintain project governance structures, including meeting schedules, decision-making forums, escalation pathways, documentation standards, milestone tracking, and readiness reviews for releases.
• Actively identify, evaluate, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and resource limitations; escalate with clear recommendations, options, and trade-offs when necessary.
• Foster accountability across cross-functional teams to guarantee timely completion of deliverables and the resolution of obstacles.
• Ensure that project execution is aligned with relevant SDLC processes, governance standards of the business unit, quality expectations, and other pertinent criteria.
• Represent Engineering project management in cross-functional program meetings as required, ensuring that engineering plans, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs are effectively communicated and understood.
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering Delivery & Excellence and the project cohort to enhance project management practices, operational mechanisms, metrics, templates, and delivery reporting.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the predictability, efficiency, quality, and visibility of engineering delivery.
• Serve as a senior project management resource and exemplify execution discipline, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and structured problem-solving.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in managing software development, R&D, technical, or new product development projects.
• Proven experience managing software projects designated for commercial product release.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects using Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Strong comprehension of software development lifecycle processes, encompassing requirements, design, development, verification, testing, deployment, and release.
• Experience in leading cross-functional project teams in a matrix organization without direct authority.
• Excellent capability to manage scope, schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to articulate project status, risks, options, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong skills in facilitation, problem-solving, decision management, and escalation processes.
• Experience supporting global or distributed engineering teams.
• Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
• Preferred certifications include PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, or similar project management or Agile credentials.
• Experience in a regulated or quality-focused environment (preferred).
• Familiarity with quality management systems, GxP, ISO, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and cybersecurity requirements (preferred).
• Background in enhancing project management processes, reporting, metrics, or SDLC execution practices (preferred).
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization/reporting tools (preferred).
• Practical understanding of AI-assisted engineering and analytics to enhance software delivery visibility, project health monitoring, and reporting efficiency (preferred).
