Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the testing strategy for designated features and areas.

• Determine the validation processes for each layer, including unit, component, integration, API, golden, E2E, accessibility, performance, security, manual, and exploratory testing.

• Engage in discovery and specification reviews prior to the start of development.

• Clarify assumptions while identifying edge cases, risks, and dependencies.

• Create test cases as part of feature development, encompassing user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error handling, recovery, and regression.

• Empower engineers to take responsibility for their quality aspects by providing test suites, regression packs, environments, and mock data.

• Execute established test cases and perform essential exploratory testing.

• Maintain an up-to-date view of test coverage for each feature.

• Enhance automation strategies and QA processes.

• Minimize flakiness, close coverage gaps, decrease repetitive manual regression, and support exploratory, accessibility, security, and performance testing.

• Utilize AI/LLM tools for designing test cases, scripting automation, and conducting exploratory testing.

• Collaborate with teams across Product, Engineering, and Data.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Senior-level experience in Quality Assurance.

• Proven experience in owning quality for real features or products, with the capability to make independent testing-strategy decisions.

• A strong ownership and proactive mindset.

• A user- and product-centric approach to testing.

• A security-focused mindset and comfort with shift-left quality practices.

• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright.

• Experience in writing backend tests, including API, unit, and database tests.

• Familiarity with testing RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Strong automation skills or a proactive attitude, solid technical foundation, and eagerness to learn automation quickly.

• Nice to have: experience in web3 or fintech, or with products that handle real money.

• Nice to have: experience testing across API, integration, golden/screenshot, performance, and accessibility layers.
