Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the testing strategy for designated features and product areas.

• Determine suitable validation layers, which include unit, component, integration, API, golden, E2E, accessibility, performance, security, manual, and exploratory testing.

• Engage in discovery and specification reviews prior to the commencement of development.

• Clarify assumptions, highlight edge cases, identify risks and dependencies, and pose failure-mode inquiries.

• Develop test cases as part of the feature development process.

• Address user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error management, recovery, and regression.

• Empower engineers to take ownership of their quality contributions through test suites, regression packs, environments, and mock data.

• Implement prepared test cases and perform essential exploratory testing.

• Keep an up-to-date overview of test coverage for each feature.

• Assist in release decisions by providing measurable confidence.

• Continuously enhance automation strategies and QA procedures.

• Minimize flakiness, close coverage gaps, and decrease repetitive manual regression.

• Broaden exploratory, accessibility, security, and performance testing.

• Utilize AI/LLM tools for test case design, automation scripting, and exploratory testing.

• Collaborate with teams across Product, Engineering, and Data.

• Assume full responsibility for the testing strategy from start to finish.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Senior-level experience in QA.

• Proven experience in owning quality for tangible features or products and making independent decisions regarding testing strategy.

• A genuine ownership mentality and proactive approach.

• A user- and product-centric mindset.

• A security-oriented mindset and comfort with shift-left quality practices.

• Practical experience with WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright.

• Proficiency in writing backend tests, including API, unit, and database tests.

• Experience in testing RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.

• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Strong automation skills, or a proactive attitude coupled with a solid technical foundation and a willingness to learn automation quickly.

• Experience in web3, fintech, or products dealing with real money is a plus.

• Familiarity with API, integration, golden/screenshot, performance, and accessibility testing is advantageous.

• Experience in security testing is a plus.
