Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the testing strategy for designated features and areas.

• Determine the appropriate validation layers, which include unit, component, integration, API, golden, end-to-end, accessibility, performance, security, manual, and exploratory testing.

• Participate in discovery and specification reviews prior to the commencement of development.

• Clarify assumptions, highlight edge cases, and identify risks and dependencies.

• Create test cases during feature development that encompass user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error handling, recovery, and regression.

• Empower engineers to take charge of quality in their areas through test suites, regression packs, environments, and mock data.

• Execute established test cases and perform essential exploratory testing.

• Maintain quantifiable test coverage for each feature to inform release decisions.

• Enhance automation strategies and QA processes by minimizing flakiness, closing coverage gaps, and reducing repetitive manual regression.

• Leverage AI/LLM tools for test case design, automation scripting, and exploratory testing.

• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Data, taking full responsibility for the end-to-end testing strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Senior-level experience in Quality Assurance.

• Proven experience in owning quality for tangible features or products and making strategic testing decisions.

• A proactive ownership mindset.

• A user- and product-centric approach.

• A security-focused mindset with a comfort for shift-left development.

• Practical experience with WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright.

• Experience in writing backend tests (API, unit, database).

• Familiarity with testing RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Strong automation skills, or a proactive attitude with the technical foundation to swiftly learn automation.

• Experience in web3, fintech, or products that handle real money is advantageous.

• Experience across API, integration, golden/screenshot, performance, or accessibility testing is a plus.

• Experience in security testing is also a plus.
