Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the testing strategy for designated features and areas.

• Determine suitable validation layers, which include unit, component, integration, API, golden, E2E, accessibility, performance, security, manual, and exploratory testing.

• Engage in discovery and specification reviews prior to the start of development.

• Clarify assumptions, highlight edge cases, and identify risks and dependencies.

• Develop test cases during the feature development phase that encompass user journeys, happy paths, edge cases, error handling, recovery, and regression.

• Empower engineers to take responsibility for the quality of their components through test suites, regression packs, environments, and mock data.

• Execute established test cases and carry out essential exploratory testing.

• Keep an updated overview of test coverage for each feature.

• Continuously enhance the automation strategy and QA processes.

• Minimize flakiness, bridge coverage gaps, reduce redundant manual regression, and facilitate exploratory, accessibility, security, and performance testing.

• Utilize AI/LLM tools for designing test cases, creating automation scripts, and conducting exploratory testing.

• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Data teams, taking charge of the end-to-end testing strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Senior-level experience in Quality Assurance (QA).

• Proven track record of owning quality for tangible features or products and making informed testing strategy decisions.

• A sense of ownership and a proactive attitude.

• A user- and product-centric approach to testing.

• A mindset focused on security and comfort with shift-left quality practices.

• Practical experience with WebdriverIO, Patrol, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Playwright.

• Experience in writing backend tests, including API, unit, and database tests.

• Familiarity with testing RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Strong automation skills, or a proactive attitude and the technical foundation to rapidly acquire automation skills.

• Nice to have: experience in web3, fintech, or products dealing with real money.

• Nice to have: experience testing across API, integration, golden/screenshot, performance, and accessibility layers.
