Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the test automation framework across UI, API, and hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD test infrastructure, which includes pipeline orchestration, containerized and temporary test environments, environment provisioning, and test parallelization.

• Create detailed test plans, scenarios, cases, and test data for both software and hardware-in-the-loop features.

• Keep test cases and scripts updated within the Test Management System.

• Assess test results and assist developers in resolving underlying issues.

• Track production bugs, determine root causes, increase test coverage, and report metrics on product quality.

• Manage automation failures, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to uphold reliability and performance.

• Design and conduct performance, scalability, security, and user experience testing as required.

• Assess, pilot, and implement AI-assisted testing tools, ensuring their output is validated.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers on best practices for test suites.

• Collaborate with Developers, SREs, Product Managers, and Operations teams to confirm end-to-end functionality.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in a Quality Assurance position.

• More than 4 years of experience in designing automation frameworks and developing test automation tools and software.

• Proven experience in leading QA projects and initiatives.

• Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, JIRA, STLC, TestRail, ALM, Zephyr, Karate, Requests, HttpRunner, TestNG, or Fiddler.

• Practical experience in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines-as-code, such as GitHub Actions.

• Experience with containerizing test environments; knowledge of Docker is required and Kubernetes is a plus.

• Experience in provisioning ephemeral or on-demand test infrastructure.

• Proficient in Python.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, technical aptitude, attention to detail, self-motivation, and a capacity to grasp new concepts, technologies, and products.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred: familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.

• Preferred: knowledge of performance, security, accessibility, ETL, data quality frameworks, and advanced SQL.

• Preferred: interest in AI-assisted QA tools.
