Senior Python Software Engineer – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop client-side code that is not only efficient but also demonstrates high performance, testability, scalability, security, and overall quality.

• Ensure code security through Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and lead the remediation process involving triaging, prioritization, remediation, and verification.

• Deliver precise status tracking, reporting, and estimation utilizing project methodologies and tools.

• Collect requirements, confirm understanding among team members, and create and maintain pertinent documentation.

• Design and develop scalable AI and agent-based workflows employing LLMs, with an emphasis on reliability and observability.

• Carry out tasks within the established methodology while maintaining the highest quality standards.

• Collaborate directly with Product and Engineering leadership to transform intricate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Recognize and address technical debt to enhance system stability, performance, and developer productivity.

• Take full responsibility for projects, from technical design to successful deployment.

• Engage in code reviews to uphold code quality and consistency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant professional experience in software engineering, primarily concentrating on Python and distributed systems.

• Demonstrated ability to manage technical features from design through to production deployment with minimal oversight.

• Profound understanding of system design and architecture, with the capability to tackle ambiguous technical challenges.

• Proficiency with Git source control tools (GitHub, GitLab, or others).

• Expertise in Python package management (such as UV, Conda, or others).

• Experience with unit testing frameworks (like Pytest).

• Design and implement scalable AI and agentic workflows using LLMs, emphasizing reliability and observability.

• Familiarity with managing Docker containers, along with orchestration using Kubernetes and AKS.

• Intermediate design skills using UML / C4 / ArchiMate.

• Experience in engineering software systems of medium to large scale and complexity.

• Knowledge of Agile software development practices.

• Proficient with relational databases.

• Experience in building scalable frontend and backend applications.

• Proficiency in the English language.
