• Contribute to the enhancement of the proprietary data platform, guiding its evolution towards a data mesh architecture suitable for the enterprise.

• Develop solutions utilizing the standard technology stack: Python, Linux via WSL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Databricks, and cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS.

• Create advanced mechanisms for data ingestion, transformation, and mass-parallel orchestration of network I/O.

• Collaborate with your team, other engineering teams, and analytical data customers to model data for both operational and analytical purposes.

• Work alongside infrastructure teams to uphold Infrastructure as Code and deliver valuable features for the engineering platform.

• Enhance data quality throughout the system by defining and acting on indicators such as completeness, accuracy, reliability, and usability.

• Assess potential new data sources for particular applications, evaluating their completeness, accuracy, and business value.

• Contribute to quality automation in CI/CD processes, optimizing for a bug-free release cadence and a positive developer experience.

• Support test automation through platform enhancements and the addition of automated tests.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, starting with well-documented code and extending to materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Engage in a pairing-first development team by sharing expertise, learning from peers, and promoting an open engineering culture.

• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and practical knowledge sharing.

• Evaluate application security and API quality to ensure compliance with relevant application security and API standards.

• Experience with relational databases and data modeling, particularly PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server, for both operational and analytical applications.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally across Azure and AWS, and the ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure or platform teams.

• Experience with Databricks or similar data engineering platforms will be beneficial for managing large-scale data workflows.

• Comfortable operating in Linux-based development environments, including Linux via WSL.

• Experience in maintaining or contributing to Infrastructure as Code and understanding how platform engineering facilitates product delivery.

• Strong quality mindset, including CI/CD, automated testing, test automation, debugging, code reviews, and continuous improvement of release cadence.

• Capability to evaluate data source quality using criteria such as completeness, accuracy, consistency, and suitability for specific applications.

• Good understanding of secure engineering practices, application security expectations, and API standards.

• Strong documentation practices and the ability to clearly communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborative, pairing-friendly attitude with the ability to mentor others, constructively challenge decisions, and take ownership of outcomes.

• Fluent communication skills in English.
