This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Develop new web scrapers and maintain the existing ones.
• Enhance the data quality, performance, and observability of the scraping platform.
• Carry out research and technical investigations.
• Take ownership of architectural or conceptual components of the platform, such as reliability, quality assurance processes, or AI-based scrapers.
• Comprehend the codebase to minimize complexity and technical debt.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Engage in technical initiatives and discussions both within the team and across teams.
• Consistently gather substantial amounts of financial data from publicly available third-party websites and mobile applications.
• Process the gathered data, verify its quality, and deliver it to users.
• Assist in the migration of the scraping platform to its fourth iteration.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience in resolving intricate data and backend challenges.
• Familiarity with data processing and distributed high-load systems.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and message queuing systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Capability to perform basic exploratory data analysis.
• Ability to make informed technical decisions based on observed data.
• Proactive project ownership and adherence to high technical standards.
• Competence to thrive in fast-paced environments and adjust to shifting priorities.
• Skill in conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of the business domain to align technical outcomes with product objectives and user needs.
• Positive mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• Previous experience at a data product company or engagement with Big Data is advantageous.
• Collaboration experience with BI, DA, or ML teams is a plus.
• Experience in constructing scalable web-scraping architectures and backend systems.
• Familiarity with documenting system architecture.
• Knowledge of Python, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
• Standard working hours are Monday through Friday in UTC/UTC+1.
• Monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $6,500, depending on experience.
