Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design and implement software solutions utilizing Python along with frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI.

• Collaborate with clients to gather business requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions.

• Utilize Agile methodologies to efficiently deliver high-quality software.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with industry best practices.

• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and suggest relevant adoption strategies.

• Engage in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality.

• Operate independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

• Provide high-quality software solutions for both commercial and government clients.

• Work closely with clients and team members within an Agile framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing web applications with Python.

• Proficiency in Django, Flask, or FastAPI.

• Experience with object-oriented programming methodologies, design patterns, database design, and data modeling.

• Strong knowledge of RESTful API development.

• Familiarity with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MySQL, along with ORMs like SQLAlchemy and Django.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as PyTest or Unittest.

• Skilled in using version control systems like Git.

• Understanding of Agile development practices.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to thrive in a client-facing role.

• Preferred: experience with microservices and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Preferred: knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Redis.

• Preferred: familiarity with data engineering tools including Pandas, NumPy, Spark, and Airflow.

• Preferred: understanding of secure programming practices and authentication mechanisms.

• Preferred: experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Lambda.

• Preferred: familiarity with GenAI productivity tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot.
