Senior Python Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable Python microservices within a distributed architecture.

• Create and enhance high-performance backend systems, ensuring they can scale and remain reliable under substantial load.

• Integrate and oversee third-party APIs and external services.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish technical solutions and system design methodologies.

• Utilize AWS services (such as Lambda and cloud infrastructure) to design and deploy solutions.

• Enhance and sustain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes in partnership with DevOps.

• Lead and participate in code reviews, upholding high engineering standards.

• Identify system bottlenecks and drive enhancements in performance and scalability.

• Resolve complex production issues within distributed systems.

• Engage in technical discussions and promote best practices within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience with a strong proficiency in Python.

• Demonstrated experience in building and scaling microservices architectures.

• In-depth knowledge of FastAPI or Django.

• Experience with AWS, including services like Lambda.

• Extensive experience with Docker and containerization.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and high-load environments.

• Background in designing and optimizing systems for performance and scalability.

• Proven experience in integrating third-party APIs.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong communication skills and the capability to work effectively in a remote-first setting.

• Experience in fintech, payments, or financial platforms.

• Familiarity with high-throughput systems (e.g., trading, payments, real-time processing).

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture (such as Kafka and messaging systems).

• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.
