Senior Public Relations Advisor, 12-month contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• ShareGate has developed a PR strategy that is establishing itself as a significant competitive advantage in AI search, the channel where buyers increasingly discover and evaluate migration and governance tools.

• This position is responsible for the earned aspect of that strategy and will maintain its momentum during a 12-month maternity leave.

• This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will manage the model on a daily basis, oversee external agencies, and provide guidance to GTM on investment opportunities rather than waiting for directives on execution.

• The focus of this role is on ShareGate, with occasional support to broader Workleap corporate communications efforts, such as award submissions (for instance, Best Managed Companies).

• Operate and enhance the earned-press engine, ensuring it targets competitive gaps and initiatives that enhance how LLMs perceive ShareGate.

• You will lead the executive thought leadership program for ShareGate: determining which leaders speak on what topics and when, coaching spokespeople, and exercising judgment to decline opportunities that do not align with the company narrative.

• Identify creator targets with the highest potential to enhance AI-search visibility across blogs, YouTube, LinkedIn, and social media. Offer guidance to GTM on focal points, assess each creator's impact, and assist in crafting pitches to engage them.

• Continuously monitor and analyze coverage, including ShareGate's visibility in AI-generated answers (AEO) alongside traditional coverage and share of voice.

• Leverage the same earned-media expertise to elevate Workleap's talent brand in Quebec and Canada, providing support to the Corporate and People teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communication strategies across earned channels, preferably in tech or B2B sectors;

• Proficient writing and editing skills across various formats, from press releases to executive messaging, capable of producing clear and compelling content with a distinct perspective;

• Established media relationships and practical experience in pitching stories, coordinating interviews, and managing media inquiries, along with experience overseeing external PR agency partners;

• Comfort in managing and coaching executive spokespeople, with the discernment to determine when an opportunity aligns with or detracts from the narrative;

• A strategic mindset regarding creator and influencer programs, coupled with a genuine interest in utilizing PR to influence how ShareGate is represented through LLMs;

• A natural relationship builder who quickly gains trust with media contacts, external agencies, executive spokespeople, and internal stakeholders;

• A genuine desire to rapidly learn a highly technical product and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You are not required to be an M365 expert initially, but you should be someone who engages deeply, asks insightful questions, and becomes fluent enough to represent it confidently in no time;

• Self-motivated and quick to adapt: you can grasp a strategy during a brief overlap and manage it independently;

• Bonus: familiarity with the Quebec market and proficiency in the French language.
