This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protective relays, DFRs, RTUs, PLC systems, and telecommunications equipment.
• Conduct advanced testing for transmission systems, buses, transformers, and generation assets.
• Configure and commission sophisticated relay systems, such as SEL (311C, 311L, 387, 411L, 421, 487, 587, 787) and GE relays (C30, D60, L90, T60, etc.).
• Manage SCADA/RTU integration and enhancements.
• Analyze and validate protection schemes and settings.
• Lead field teams while mentoring junior and intermediate staff members.
• Directly interface with clients, providing expert technical guidance.
• Diagnose complex issues and deploy effective solutions.
• Ensure precise reporting and thorough project documentation.
• Promote a robust safety culture.
• 7–15 years of progressive field experience in protection and controls.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Advanced experience with SEL relay families, GE relays (considered a strong asset), and RTU and communication systems (GE, SEL, Novatech, etc.).
• Demonstrated leadership and client-facing experience.
• Exceptional technical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license and a willingness to travel.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Preferred: NETA Certification (or actively pursuing certification).
• Continuous training and manufacturer certifications.
