Senior Project Manager – Heavy Duty Combine Cycle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation of Simple and Combined Cycle projects within the Heavy Duty Gas Power sector.

• Manage the entire project lifecycle, starting from contract signing to fulfilling contractual obligations.

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers on assigned projects.

• Lead customer interactions, negotiations, and the resolution of issues.

• Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, contractors, and vendors.

• Take full responsibility for the execution of large, intricate, non-turnkey, product/equipment-only, and combined cycle projects.

• Collaborate with the ITO Commercial Manager to formulate early execution strategies.

• Facilitate contract reviews and ensure alignment of requirements, scope, and obligations.

• Manage project execution adhering to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards.

• Oversee the complete project P&L, encompassing revenue, contribution margin, and cash flow.

• Foster accountability for project performance metrics.

• Navigate cost, schedule, performance, and risk trade-offs effectively.

• Create and maintain risk and opportunity registers along with mitigation strategies.

• Advocate for GE Vernova’s Safety Toolkit among project teams, partners, and subcontractors.

• Facilitate risk-based decision-making processes.

• Cultivate project execution and/or technical subject-matter expertise.

• Promote best practices across products, processes, and services.

• Lead innovative problem-solving efforts in manufacturing, engineering, and production settings.

• Utilize operational, engineering, and product management methodologies across interconnected workstreams.

• Address cross-functional issues and eliminate execution barriers.

• Direct project teams and allocate resources effectively.

• Assist Functional Project Managers with escalations.

• Deliver project, business, and technical solutions to senior leadership.

• Influence others without formal authority within a matrixed organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 8 years of Project Management experience in Energy, Construction, or large capital project settings.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.

• Proven experience and understanding of the costs and estimates related to large capital project execution.

• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple phased projects simultaneously and independently.

• Strong customer orientation with the ability to build strong relationships.

• Experience in engaging and influencing senior-level leaders.

• Strategic mindset with problem-solving, business, and financial insight.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to present effectively and convey complex messages clearly.

• An inclusive approach and strong interpersonal and leadership abilities across all levels.

• Capacity to make independent decisions, prioritize conflicting demands in a dynamic environment, and interact effectively at all organizational tiers.

• Experience in applying data and lean tools and technologies for strategic, operational, and project efficiencies.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
