
Senior Project Manager – Critical Infrastructure Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Oversee the execution of projects from the tender phase through to the end of the warranty period, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), delivery, and commissioning.
• Adhere to project management best practices as outlined in the Project Management Handbook and specific product line guidelines, with a particular emphasis on transfer reviews, project gate reviews, and project close-out procedures.
• Enhance the operational performance of the unit by delivering precise forecasts on financial KPIs, including Sales, Cash, and Contribution Margin.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during contract execution.
• Ensure that all commitments made to customers are fulfilled in accordance with the contract, maintaining clear communication through various channels such as phone, email, and customer meetings, along with periodic reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering, logistics, sourcing, procurement, and finance teams to execute projects effectively.
• Provide monthly updates on the progress of action plans, as well as sales and cash forecasts.
• Prepare and deliver project review presentations.
• Maintain thorough documentation and records for all executed projects.
• Manage resource planning and team workload to achieve a billable ratio of 90% or higher.
• Contribute to the development of the Operations department and foster continuous improvement within the unit.
• Lead EHS/Safety initiatives and performance, ensuring full compliance with GE's rules and processes, while ensuring that project teams (both internal and subcontracted) are adequately trained and possess necessary qualifications when required.
• Adhere to GE's compliance policies ('The Spirit and The Letter') and encourage open reporting.
• Assist Commercial teams by providing Return on Experience (ROE) insights to optimize project costs and delivery.
• Implement contract management/change strategies that align with the interests of project GEV.
• Contribute to organizational growth by taking the lead on Variation Orders for projects as required, with support from Commercial teams.
• Demonstrate GE's leadership behaviors while fulfilling roles and responsibilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecom Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Knowledge of business and industry practices.
• Previous experience in telecom/network or IP field operations.
• A minimum of 5 years of project management experience within the EPC/turnkey sector.
• Ability to manage and inspire a project team of 3-6 individuals.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
• Technical expertise in IP, MPLS, or SDG protocols, as well as Industrial Wireless, Teleprotection Systems, Routers, Switches, and Powerline Carriers is a plus.
