This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Oversee the execution of intricate global projects for clients in the contract research, life sciences, or regulated healthcare industries.
• Manage the entire project lifecycle, which encompasses planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, delivery, and closure.
• Coordinate international cross-functional teams, including internal departments, vendors, and external partners.
• Create project plans, timelines, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation strategies that align with both client and operational needs.
• Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with client expectations, regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality benchmarks.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring timely escalation of critical issues when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with production, quality, and operations teams to foster continuous process enhancements and operational efficiency.
• Establish and maintain robust client relationships, serving as a trusted partner throughout the project execution phase.
• Provide transparent and proactive communication to clients and internal stakeholders regarding timelines, risks, budgets, and project performance.
• Supervise financial management activities, including budget monitoring, invoicing approvals, profitability tracking, and margin management.
• Prepare documentation for clients, which includes Statements of Work (SOWs), project plans, process documentation, business reviews, and post-project analyses.
• Assist in strategic client initiatives, business reviews, and growth opportunities within enterprise accounts.
• Contribute to the establishment of operational best practices, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
• A Bachelor's degree is required, ideally in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is advantageous.
• Extensive project management experience in a CRO, clinical research, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences setting.
• Proven track record in managing complex global projects and enterprise-level client accounts.
• Experience in highly regulated environments with a strong grasp of compliance, quality standards, and operational processes.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience in managing project budgets, forecasting, profitability, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in developing client-facing documentation such as SOWs, proposals, workflows, and project reports.
• Experience in supporting strategic client relationships and engaging in business reviews and growth discussions.
• Familiarity with localization, language services, regulated content workflows, or clinical documentation processes is highly desirable.
• Experience with project management and workflow management tools is preferred.
