This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Take on complete P&L accountability for designated projects
• Oversee projects that range from $500,000 to multi-million-dollar contracts
• Safeguard and enhance project margins through disciplined execution
• Ensure precise forecasting until project completion
• Create and manage comprehensive project budgets
• Track labor productivity and cost performance
• Maintain forecasting accuracy and alignment with revenue
• Identify, price, and capture opportunities for change orders
• Manage billing cycles and cash flow risks
• Interpret and oversee contract obligations
• Ensure clarity of scope and enforce structured change management
• Lead the development and tracking of RFIs
• Prevent unauthorized execution of scope
• Develop and maintain formal project risk registers
• Actively mitigate safety, financial, schedule, and resource risks
• Appropriately escalate high-impact risks
• Lead contingency and recovery planning efforts
• Create and manage detailed project schedules
• Coordinate shutdown windows and critical path milestones
• Document and manage the impacts of delays
• Align workforce and engineering resources with scheduling requirements
• Lead cross-functional teams, including technicians, engineers, and subcontractors
• Conduct structured project kickoff meetings
• Drive quality execution and minimize rework
• Ensure disciplined documentation and turnover standards
• Act as the primary client interface
• Lead project update meetings and executive briefings
• Navigate conflicts professionally while safeguarding Shermco’s interests
• Foster opportunities for repeat business
• Provide clear updates on project performance to senior leadership
• Present risk summaries, financial forecasts, and mitigation strategies
• Engage in post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.
• Over 7 years of project management experience in electrical construction, testing, commissioning, engineering services, or industrial field services
• Proven track record of managing projects with contract values exceeding $500,000
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management
• Experience in interpreting contracts and managing change orders
• Working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead large field teams and multidisciplinary resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an executive presence.
