Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Serves as the primary contact and client services representative for a designated group of high-profile clients with substantial annual analytical expenditures.

• Assists the client with all facets of project initiation, encompassing the initial quotation, supply orders, sample receipt, data reporting, and invoicing.

• Responsible for mentoring PM I and/or PM II on advanced, technical elements of project management and environmental regulatory standards, while assigning tasks to Project Manager Assistants.

• Cultivates collaborative relationships with clients, laboratory operations, and the sales team to ensure enduring, successful partnerships among all parties.

• Conducts staff and client meetings that are essential for communicating information regarding past, present, and future projects.

• Acts as the client's liaison to the laboratory, ensuring that all project elements are executed in alignment with the interests of both the client and laboratory operations to meet turnaround time deadlines.

• Accountable for maintaining all project accounts in an organized, current, and accurate manner.

• Oversees project progression and delivers regular updates through proactive communication with the client, lab operations, and sales team regarding project status.

• Effective and efficient communication between all areas of the laboratory and the client is crucial and falls under the Project Manager's responsibilities.

• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all relevant aspects of the client project, including the project rationale, applicable regulations, and the various methodologies utilized by both the client and laboratory to yield results.

• Familiarity with environmental regulations is advantageous, including: NPDES, SW-846.

• Records and fulfills client requests such as bottle orders, sample tracking, LIMS login, change orders, and more.

• Reviews project data and invoicing for precision and completeness prior to dispatching final reports to clients.

• Engages in offsite and/or virtual client meetings as arranged with the Sales team.

• Advocates for a positive work environment and represents SGS positively both within and outside the laboratory.

• Performs additional duties as assigned to help SGS achieve its mission of quality, service, and growth.

• Establishes and implements laboratory protocols for the handling of complex or unusual analytical and reporting requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent industry experience (Required)

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager (Required)

• Experience with high-volume clients or complex project management responsibilities (Required)

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (Preferred)

• 3+ years of experience as a Client Project Manager II (Preferred)

• Advanced oral and written communication skills (Required)

• Self-motivated with strong resource utilization skills (Required)

• Proficient in advanced English language, reasoning, and mathematical skills (Required)

• Advanced computer skills are essential (Required)

• Exceptional attention to detail is required (Required)

• Strong critical thinking abilities to foresee and address problems systematically (Required)

• Capability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional setting (Required)
