This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery for one or more products or workstreams within the program, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon scope, timeframe, budget, and quality standards.
• Organize and manage the squads’ delivery processes, which include sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and commitment to delivery timelines, in collaboration with Product and development teams.
• Convert program priorities and product objectives into well-defined delivery plans that encompass milestones, dependencies, and measurable results.
• Foster momentum and accountability across diverse squads (including Product, Business Analysis, developers, QA, and specialized roles), ensuring alignment and removing any obstacles.
• Facilitate the delivery cadence and team ceremonies (such as planning sessions, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives), ensuring they are productive and effective.
• Oversee cross-squad and cross-product dependencies while maintaining a clear understanding of the critical path and delivery challenges.
• Manage the delivery-level RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) position, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies early, and addressing them transparently.
• Anticipate potential issues and eliminate blockers to sustain delivery momentum.
• Handle changes to scope and plans in a pragmatic manner, safeguarding outcomes and value.
• Provide clear, decision-oriented delivery updates that emphasize value, risk, and confidence rather than mere activities.
• Contribute to the program’s governance by aiding in program reporting, steering packs, and milestone reviews, ensuring clear and traceable status is maintained.
• Assist in managing budgets and forecasts for the products or workstreams, monitoring expenditures against the plan while promptly addressing financial pressures with the Programme Lead, who typically oversees the budget.
• Maintain a clear understanding of squad capacity and capability, identifying constraints and supporting prioritization and trade-off decisions.
• Ensure delivery aligns with business value and measurable outcomes, tracking anticipated benefits realization and reporting any delays.
• Advocate for an outcome-focused delivery culture within the squads, measuring progress based on achieved value.
• Establish trusted relationships across business, technology, and delivery teams, ensuring a clear connection between strategy, delivery, and operations.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the end-to-end delivery of complex digital or software products and workstreams within a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in driving delivery within agile, product-led squads (Scrum or Kanban), balancing the flexibility of agile with program-level control.
• Proven capability to instigate behavioral and process changes within delivery teams, including securing buy-in from teams outside of direct authority.
• Solid foundation in structured delivery, with experience or certification in recognized methodologies (such as PRINCE2, MSP, PMI, or Agile equivalents) applied appropriately.
• Experience managing dependencies, sequencing, risks, and changes across multiple concurrent workstreams and teams.
• Proficiency in managing delivery budgets, forecasts, and trade-offs, while ensuring suppliers adhere to plans and quality standards.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of simplifying complexity for senior stakeholders and collaborating across business, technology, and delivery teams.
• Comfortable operating within program governance and delivery standards established by others and contributing to their enhancement.
• A solid understanding of modern software delivery practices, and ideally, knowledge of assurance, certification, or related digital platforms is advantageous.
