This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the implementation of enterprise initiatives, including capital projects, within the PMO delivery framework.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and subject matter experts to develop and execute intricate project plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide sponsors with regular updates on project status, outcome measures, organizational and departmental objectives, and insights gained.
• Identify, mitigate, and communicate potential project risks and challenges.
• Facilitate meetings, drive decision-making, define subsequent actions, and establish a communication rhythm.
• Address capacity issues, resource allocation, interdependencies, and other project-related challenges.
• Ensure the quality of cross-functional work and maintain deliverables that are current and accessible.
• Utilize training, documentation, process modifications, Gantt charts, status reports, and other project management solutions.
• Advocate for the use of project management tools and internal digital resources.
• Promote best practices in enterprise project delivery and enhance consistency and accountability in delivery.
• Mentor and support teams on complex initiatives.
• Participate in monthly Project Manager Cohort meetings.
• Foster transparency through precise reporting and effective utilization of tools like Planview.
• Assist in the evolution of delivery practices as organizational priorities shift.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to align expectations, address challenges, and facilitate decision-making.
• Provide interim project or program leadership during critical transitions.
• Confidence and poise in communicating across all organizational levels, including with executives.
• Proven track record in delivering complex, cross-functional projects in fast-paced settings.
• Capacity to juggle multiple priorities, manage competing demands, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, guide trade-offs, and facilitate decision-making processes.
• Strong skills in conflict management.
• Capability to promote accountability through precise reporting and effective tool usage.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working or volunteering in animal welfare or nonprofit sectors is preferred.
• Ability to embody ASPCA core values and behavioral competencies.
• A B.A./B.S. is preferred, or equivalent professional experience is required.
• At least 6 years of experience in project or program management.
• Familiarity with project management frameworks and methodologies.
• Project management certification or related coursework is highly preferred.
• Experience managing complex, enterprise-level initiatives is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365, Box, Canva, Teams, project management platforms, and dashboard development.
• Experience with Planview AdaptiveWork is a plus.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% annually.
