Senior Project Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Provide support for billing and review Profit and Loss Statements.

• Implement revenue standard ASC 606 for various projects.

• Aid in the setup of projects within the Oracle system.

• Analyze contract terms and establish project codes, revenue methods, and billing formulas in the Oracle accounting system.

• Generate comprehensive financial reports, encompassing cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability evaluations.

• Prepare and examine invoices.

• Manage client relations, including necessary communications with project managers and clients.

• Prepare and record journal entries related to project costs, revenues, and adjustments.

• Demonstrate initiative by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing necessary changes.

• Assist during external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

• Manage more complex projects and support other project accountants as needed.

• Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to assist with ad hoc reporting.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within engineering consulting, technology, retail, or similar industries.

• Familiarity with ASC 606.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

• Strong attention to detail along with excellent organizational abilities.

• Outstanding time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks effectively.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong critical thinking capabilities.

• A collaborative team player who can recognize and drive process enhancements.

• A passion for sustainability and a commitment to making a significant environmental impact.

• Willingness to travel to Chicago, IL up to 1-2 times per year as required.
