Senior Program Manager – Strategic Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• The primary role involves overseeing and leading the project management team.

• Utilize expertise in project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful execution of projects and programs across the portfolio, while mitigating risks, meeting business goals, and delivering value to stakeholders.

• Capable of navigating intricate challenges, motivating teams, and encouraging innovation.

• Formulate and implement comprehensive delivery strategies, ensuring alignment among all project functions and stakeholders.

• Direct and manage complex transformation projects or workstreams within extensive programs.

• Define and establish program methodologies and plans, coordinating various projects, vendors, and delivery teams.

• Monitor KPIs, benefits, and program integration while facilitating Program Increment (PI) planning.

• Create or approve documentation for project initiation, delivery methods, and success criteria.

• Contribute to the overall delivery strategy of the project or program.

• Ensure projects are delivered within the agreed scope, budget, and timelines while managing risks, issues, and quality standards.

• Implement delivery practices and methodologies; lead workshops, meetings, and requirements-gathering sessions.

• Maintain close oversight of technical and functional details, ensuring alignment between business and technical requirements.

• Develop and execute communication plans for stakeholders; facilitate discussions at the senior level and governance meetings.

• Create and manage project budgets.

• Proactively identify and address challenges in delivery, dependencies, and change management requirements.

• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement within the Delivery Practice or CSG, enhancing efficiency and best practices.

• Mentor and collaborate with less experienced Project Managers to aid in skill development and project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including over 5 years in program management.

• Demonstrated business acumen combined with strong organizational change management and communication skills.

• Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence, ADO, etc.).

• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications).

• A seasoned project or delivery professional with substantial expertise in managing large, complex, and multi-functional projects or workstreams.

• A collaborative leader adept at coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.

• An organized and detail-oriented individual proficient in managing various project components, timelines, and deliverables.

• Proven capability to lead and manage internal strategic programs across multiple business units.
