Senior Program Manager – Strategic Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Responsible for overseeing and guiding the project management team.

• Utilize expertise in project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful execution of projects and programs throughout the portfolio, mitigating risks, achieving business goals, and delivering value to stakeholders.

• Capable of navigating complex challenges, motivating teams, and promoting innovation.

• Direct and manage internal strategic initiatives across the organization, including business change and transformation programs.

• Develop and implement comprehensive delivery strategies, ensuring alignment among all project functions and stakeholders.

• Guide and manage intricate transformation projects or workstreams within extensive programs.

• Define and execute program strategies and plans, coordinating various projects, vendors, and delivery teams.

• Monitor KPIs, benefits, and program integration while facilitating Program Increment (PI) planning.

• Create or validate project initiation documents, delivery strategies, and success criteria.

• Contribute to the overall project or program delivery strategy.

• Successfully deliver projects within the defined scope, budget, and timelines while managing risks, issues, and quality standards.

• Implement delivery methodologies and practices; facilitate workshops, meetings, and requirement-gathering sessions.

• Maintain close oversight of technical and functional details to ensure alignment between business and technical requirements.

• Develop and execute stakeholder communication strategies; facilitate discussions and governance meetings at the senior level.

• Create and oversee project budgets.

• Proactively identify and address delivery challenges, dependencies, and change management requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Delivery Practice or CSG, enhancing efficiency and best practices.

• Mentor and collaborate with less experienced Project Managers to foster skill development and project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 10 years of professional experience, including more than 5 years in program management.

• Demonstrated business acumen along with strong skills in organizational change management and communications.

• Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence, ADO, etc.).

• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications).

• An experienced project or delivery professional with significant expertise in managing large, complex, and multi-functional projects or workstreams.

• A collaborative leader proficient in coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.

• An organized and detail-oriented individual adept at managing multiple project components, timelines, and deliverables.

• Proven ability to lead and manage internal strategic programs across various business units.
