Senior Program Manager – C&I Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• The Project Manager will serve as the authority on Microgrids and Battery storage elements within energy projects, ensuring successful completion within the designated timeframe and budget, while upholding quality, safety, and cash management standards, and fostering strong customer references.

• Projects encompass a mix of energy efficiency initiatives and renewable generation installations, aimed at assisting Commercial & Industrial clients in becoming more sustainable, reducing costs, and enhancing services for their end users.

• Direct a project team to analyze, develop, and implement energy-related enhancements for customers, with a particular emphasis on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and renewable-based microgrids.

• Lead the evaluation of potential microgrid applications that emerge during the sales process.

• Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and OEMs to refine the microgrid design through workshops and modeling sessions.

• Work alongside stakeholders to standardize and streamline processes related to design, implementation, commissioning, and monitoring of microgrids.

• Coordinate requirements and specifications both internally and externally with OEMs throughout the sales and implementation phases.

• Assist in microgrid commissioning by drafting specifications and test plans, overseeing test execution, and documenting results.

• Actively manage the project team through regular meetings to assign responsibilities and tasks, as well as to discuss and document project updates, needs, and progress.

• Act as the primary contact for internal and, in some cases, external customers during the development and implementation stages.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in the Commercial and Industrial sector.

• Familiarity with BESS and onsite generation, including Solar PV, and the ability to manage and deliver complex projects.

• A valid state-issued driver's license is required.

• Travel to project locations is expected to be between 20 - 40% of the time based on job requirements.

• Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Excellent adherence to schedules and collaborative problem-solving skills to ensure budget compliance, schedule integrity, and customer satisfaction.

• High standards of accuracy, presentation, and thoroughness in project documentation.

• Capability to prepare and compose precise customer reports and RFX responses, with a focus on customer objectives and needs.

• Proficiency in creating and executing project development and delivery schedules.

• Ability to meet stringent attendance requirements.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Capacity to manage multiple assignments timely and with high accuracy.

• Proficiency in using a company-issued computer.
