This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Oversee a portfolio of litigated and non-litigated claims of diverse complexity under various professional liability coverages.
• Identify exposures and ensure that reserves are established adequately and in a timely manner.
• Assess coverage matters and pinpoint opportunities for risk transfer.
• Administer litigation through effective expert selection, planning, budgeting, and collaboration with defense counsel.
• Exhibit strong negotiation abilities.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively manage claim resolutions, which includes developing and executing resolution strategies, assessing settlement values, and securing settlement authority.
• Participate actively in mediations as necessary, within the limits of settlement authority.
• Control allocated loss adjustment expenses through strategic management and review/payment processing in collaboration with the billing unit.
• Properly document claim files in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain necessary adjuster licenses as required.
• This role may entail occasional travel for mediations, training sessions, trials, and other related meetings.
• A BA/BS degree is mandatory.
• An active adjuster license in your home state is essential.
• Possession of AIC, SCLA, CPCU, or other relevant industry designations is advantageous.
• A Juris Doctorate is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in handling professional liability claims is preferred.
• Prior experience with litigated claims is required.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills are necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently while meeting designated deadlines.
• Respond promptly to inquiries with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to collaborate and cooperate in a virtual office setting.
• Proficiency in multitasking and effectively prioritizing tasks amidst frequent interruptions.
• Capability to adhere to instructions and established procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet applications.
• Highly detail-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate sound judgment in sensitive circumstances.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
