This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
• Conduct virtual and in-person investigations by visiting policyholders’ homes to evaluate property damage, assess liability, determine the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damages and generate estimates in a paperless format.
• Analyze and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify the relevant state and industry agencies of incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson.
• Execute responsibilities independently, with work that directly influences management decisions.
• Represent the company in public interactions, maintaining a professional demeanor that aligns with management standards.
• Regularly engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.
• Apply strong customer service skills to negotiate settlements with policyholders.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
• Advocate for safety at all times and adhere to safety and ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company manuals.
• Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team will need to travel away from their homes for a designated period, typically lasting 2-3 days. While this role is not exclusively CAT-specific, new hires should be prepared for 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Strong customer service experience, preferably within a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Comfortable using smartphones and various applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage to understand how coverage applies to specific losses.
• Outgoing personality with a knack for engaging with a diverse array of individuals, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Valid driver's license and bondable status are required.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check, as this role may involve the use of a company vehicle.
