Senior Professional Coding and Documentation Improvement Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate coding reviews

• Enhance provider documentation

• Increase coding precision and compliance

• Support manager in managing time and workflow tasks

• Track trends and results of record review findings

• Organize educational sessions for physicians

• Administer the CHMG educational website

• Create and present large group education sessions for all CHMG providers

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent

• Associate's degree in health information management is preferred

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P) is mandatory

• Physician coding and Training certification

• Minimum of three years’ experience in a professional coding position with monitoring and education experience is essential

• Experience in ICD-10-CM, CPT, CM, and HCPCS coding

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Familiarity with pathophysiology and disease processes

• Comprehensive understanding of industry guidelines and regulations for physician coding and reimbursement

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, or Pathophysiology

• Capability to develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate coding education plans using various methods for individual providers or provider groups
