📋 Description

• Serve as a reliable and recognized subject matter expert, both internally and externally, showcasing extensive knowledge in various domains of product sustainability and regulatory compliance. Focus on regulatory and industry goals for product sustainability initiatives (e.g., Product Carbon Footprint, Life Cycle Assessment, Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) including digital product passports, Environmental Product Declarations, sustainable product initiatives, etc.).

• Stay updated on regulatory, sustainability, and industry-led advancements, while identifying trends through continuous monitoring and research of global standards and regulations, as well as engaging with industry groups. Influence regulatory and sustainability progress and Assent's opportunities through proactive participation in trade associations, working groups, relationship-building, developing/updating standards, and supporting events as a thought leader.

• Collaborate with the Product Management team to uncover opportunities for Assent to create impactful new products and software solutions by conveying regulatory compliance and sustainability market insights, customer perspectives, and industry trends, while building a business case aligned with team and Assent objectives.

• Act as a key voice in the ongoing enhancement of Assent’s solutions, driving the establishment of market best practices and recommendations for adopting best practices that enhance the Assent SaaS Platform, providing comprehensive support from design to delivery.

• Offer continuous expertise and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders (directly or through Sales or Customer Success teams) including prospective clients, to inform and assist compliance efforts and objectives related to regulatory compliance and sustainability, adeptly simplifying complex information to foster meaningful discussions across diverse audiences.

• Exhibit thought leadership and bolster Assent’s brand reputation as a trusted advisor by partnering with marketing teams to create external materials such as blog posts, white papers, webinars, and sales enablement resources, as well as participating in third-party events including conferences and industry group engagements.

• Facilitate training programs and educational initiatives focused on product sustainability covering both regulatory compliance and market issues.

• Familiarize oneself with corporate security policies and adhere to the guidelines established by Assent Inc.'s processes and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of hands-on experience in product sustainability, design for sustainability, life cycle assessment, circular economy, product stewardship, or ecodesign.

• Relevant post-secondary degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Environmental Law, Design for Environment, or a similar relevant field.

• Understanding of manufacturing practices with experience in product design, certification and compliance, procurement, sustainability, or other product or supply chain management roles is preferred.

• Previous experience as a consultant or in an advisory role responsible for revenue generation is advantageous.

• Strong familiarity with LCA software solutions (e.g., Sphera, One Click LCA, openLCA, SimaPro, etc.) is preferred.

• Competence in PCF/LCA Standards and industry-specific requirements including PCRs.

• Experience managing strategic product sustainability programs within a multinational organization that produces durable professional goods.

• Excellent research, critical thinking, and analytical skills; ability to assimilate, process, and interpret extensive amounts of complex information, including legal documents, identify relevant business impacts, and summarize essential information for non-compliance stakeholders.

• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities, with the skill to develop content and modify messaging to suit diverse audiences, supporting Sales, Marketing, and Product initiatives.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.

• Strategic and business-oriented mindset - strong business acumen and understanding of Assent’s goals and value proposition, capable of aligning efforts and priorities with broader team and organizational objectives.

• Excellent collaboration and influencing abilities - capable of establishing strong cross-functional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, fostering trust and driving alignment.

• Recognized, reputable, and credible subject matter expert and advisor, both internally and externally.

• Highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and achieve results.
