This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of Overstory's fundamental positioning and messaging, encompassing both category narrative and product-level value propositions.
• Develop the terminology that clarifies how utility leaders perceive wildfire risks, vegetation-related threats, and the repercussions of inaction.
• Direct pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies for both new and existing products, including tailored agreements involving intricate, multi-stakeholder purchasing dynamics.
• Create sales enablement resources (battlecards, pitch narratives, ROI models) that assist the sales team in navigating extended cycles with vegetation managers, engineers, and C-suite executives. Provide training to representatives on utilizing these materials and maintain close engagement with deals to identify when they are ineffective.
• Collaborate with product and sales leadership on go-to-market strategies; oversee product launches from start to finish, organize pilots, and decide on entry strategies for new segments.
• Conduct win/loss analysis and competitive intelligence initiatives to enhance our sales approach and positioning.
• Guide the development of early-career team members in product marketing, content marketing, and field marketing.
• Over 7 years of experience in product marketing, with substantial exposure to B2B enterprise software, particularly in contexts with extended sales cycles and multi-stakeholder purchasing processes.
• Proven ability to write for highly technical audiences and to create clear, engaging narratives for product demonstrations, executive briefings, and field sales discussions.
• Experience in utilizing AI in daily operations and integrating AI tools into regular workflows.
• Background in constructing and delivering sales training, including conducting enablement sessions, coaching sales representatives, and adapting strategies based on field feedback.
• Comfort with complexity, including custom deals, non-standard packaging, and sales processes that necessitate significant internal team coordination.
• Strong strategic instincts, capable of broadening perspective to shape category narratives while also focusing on precise wording for one-pagers. You understand when each approach is necessary.
• Experience assisting a company through significant product launches or new market entries.
