
Senior Product Manager, Ting Data Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the product lead for Ting Data Products, overseeing strategy, roadmap, customer relationships, go-to-market influence, and data offerings.
• Establish the North Star direction for Ting Data Products and devise the strategy to achieve the vision in collaboration with company leadership.
• Act as the in-house authority on grid data requirements—understanding current usage by grid teams and what they would need if given the opportunity.
• Conduct discovery, create lasting feedback loops, and convert insights into the product roadmap.
• Identify a targeted range of data products—APIs, files, dashboards, alerts—built on shared foundations to cater to various customers.
• Define and implement the roadmap to advance towards the vision.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to determine the scope of each release and guarantee a superior customer experience.
• Assess customer and business impact following each release.
• Shape positioning, messaging, pricing, packaging, sales enablement, and launch strategies.
• Develop the roadmapping, prioritization, and release-planning practices necessary for the growth of this product line.
• Proficiently utilize modern AI tools in research, prototyping, writing, and analysis.
• Over 8 years of product management experience, predominantly in B2B environments.
• More than 3 years of experience in developing data products—APIs, real-time feeds, structured datasets, or other customer-facing data services.
• Deep understanding of how data buyers utilize third-party data—knowing what teams expect from a reliable data product on a daily basis.
• Engineering background is highly preferred—you can draft an API, analyze pipeline trade-offs, and engage in architecture discussions.
• A keen interest in diving deep into the underlying domain: electrical telemetry and grid operations.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, along with an executive presence.
• Comfortable navigating both technical and business discussions in customer interactions, ranging from utility engineers to utility VPs.
• Proven history of translating vague customer requirements into repeatable product specifications that accommodate multiple buyers.
• Strong intuition for pricing, packaging, and elements that contribute to the commercial viability of a B2B data product.
• At least 3 years of experience in a growth-stage startup—comfortable with ambiguity, swift pace, and the challenges of creating something new.
• Ability to identify specific AI tools and workflows used regularly and articulate how they have transformed your output and efficiency.
• Nice to have: Experience in developing data products from sensor or hardware-generated data.
• Experience with electric utilities or other institutional purchasers of grid or infrastructure data.
• Familiarity with utility operations, distribution engineering, or grid planning processes.
