Senior Director of Product

• As the Senior Director of Product, you will collaborate closely with the CEO to establish direction across Product and Design, prioritize initiatives within the broader Product, Design, and Engineering organization, and convert swift advancements in AI, deep customer insights, and commercial opportunities into a focused strategy that succeeds.

• You will impact the company’s most significant ventures, assist in expanding our product into new global markets, and craft a compelling product narrative for enterprise customers, partners, investors, and the board.

• You will also develop the organization and operating model necessary to achieve this ambition. Lead and nurture a growing, high-performing Product and Design organization, building upon the five teams already established, each supported by dedicated Product Management and specialist Design SMEs.

• You will integrate AI-enhanced methodologies that significantly boost our speed and quality, fostering a strong partnership with Engineering to ensure strategy, discovery, and delivery are aligned.

• You will maintain close connections with customers and remain hands-on when necessary, while fostering the clarity, culture, and capabilities Spotted Zebra requires to scale without sacrificing the pace, ownership, or product craftsmanship that distinguishes us.

• Must-Haves ✅

• - **Product & Design leadership at scale:** Proven experience leading a Product and Design organization across various teams and disciplines, with a history of directly managing and nurturing high-performing individual contributors while retaining a hands-on role.

• - **Engineering partnership at senior level:** Established ability to collaborate as a true peer and strategic partner to Engineering leadership - influencing technical direction, fostering cross-functional alignment, and providing broader leadership continuity as needed, without requiring direct line management of Engineering teams.

• - **AI-native delivery:** Demonstrated experience in building or transforming a product function to operate in an AI-native manner - integrating AI tools into discovery, design, and delivery workflows to enhance speed, quality, and ambition in the team's output.

• - **AI tooling fluency:** Practical expertise with AI tools pertinent to product and design processes - from prototyping and research synthesis to writing, analysis, and delivery acceleration. A sophisticated understanding of AI and its application in B2B products, including an informed perspective on how AI will reshape the competitive landscape and its implications for product strategy and development decisions. You don’t just advocate for AI usage; you embody it.

• - **IC management & coaching:** Proven ability to directly manage, mentor, and develop team members across Product and Design - including a Head of Design - by setting high expectations, providing honest feedback, and fostering conditions for exceptional work without requiring a management layer between you and the team.

• - **Hands-on capability:** Comfortable and willing to engage directly when necessary - whether diving into a discovery issue, shaping a strategic document, or intervening to unblock essential work.

• - **Scaling through funding rounds:** Practical experience aiding a high-growth startup in its transition from early-stage to scaled operations, including establishing processes, structures, and culture that support growth without compromising agility.

• - **Global product experience:** Proven capability to develop and implement product strategies across international markets, particularly with experience in building for or expanding into the United States enterprise market.

• - **Executive presence & investor readiness:** Comfortable operating at the board and investor levels, with experience contributing to or leading fundraising narratives, due diligence processes, or discussions on strategic partnerships.

• - **Cross-functional ownership:** Experience managing functions beyond core product and design - such as Solutions Architecture, Technical Pre-Sales, or Implementation - and effectively integrating them into the broader product and go-to-market strategy.

• - **B2B SaaS at enterprise scale:** Extensive experience in building and scaling enterprise SaaS products, with a comprehensive understanding of the commercial dynamics, implementation complexities, and stakeholder management required by enterprise customers.

• - **Strategic product thinking:** Ability to operate across multiple time horizons simultaneously - maintaining a clear long-term product vision while ensuring that near-term execution is focused, well-resourced, and commercially viable.

• - **Customer co-creation at executive level:** Experience engaging executive stakeholders at enterprise customers to shape product direction, co-develop solutions, and establish deep, long-term relationships that drive retention and expansion.
