This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Establish the strategy for reporting and insights: Create a vision and roadmap for a comprehensive reporting system that encompasses in-app report creation, dashboards, scheduled deliveries, exports, APIs/connectors, embedded partner surfaces, and AI/agent experiences.

• Gain a deep understanding of customer reporting requirements: Cultivate empathy for various personas including payroll, finance, HR, executives, managers, internal operators, and partners/builders — translating diverse workflows, trust thresholds, and AI readiness levels into clear product priorities.

• Construct reliable reporting foundations: Take ownership of payroll-grade reporting features such as standard reports, configurable report building, GL/journal exports, variance reporting, reconciliation, definitions, permissions, lineage, auditability, and observability.

• Create intelligent insights experiences: Determine where AI, anomaly detection, driver analysis, and proactive recommendations can assist users in understanding changes and next steps — ensuring outputs are explainable, source-backed, and compliant.

• Achieve strong cross-functional execution: Collaborate with Data, Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Sales, CX, Finance, Operations, and partners to transform customer needs into technically sound, scalable reporting solutions.

• Evaluate and enhance impact: Set KPIs for adoption, engagement, trust, report accuracy, distribution usage, retention, expansion, and internal leverage; consistently utilize feedback and data to refine the product.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-Level Experience: Proven track record as a Product Manager with a strong emphasis on reporting, analytics, data platforms, workflows, or insights products.

• Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code (Required): Ability to independently build, debug, and deploy functional code and prototypes — not just write specifications. Capable of understanding data schemas, query patterns, analytics code, and AI-assisted workflows hands-on.

• Data Understanding & Fluency (Required): Solid end-to-end data literacy encompassing models/schemas, lineage, and report generation. Comfortable with grain, joins, aggregations, and common pitfalls such as double-counting, currency/timezones, effective dating, and late-arriving data.

• Ability to read/write SQL to validate outcomes, investigate discrepancies, and ensure metrics are well-defined, reconciled, and reliable. Collaborate effectively with Data/Engineering to address definition and modeling challenges.

• Customer Focus: Deep empathy for customers and a keen understanding of what is most critical in their daily workflows.

• Stakeholder Management: Strong capability to align cross-functional stakeholders, navigate trade-offs, and maintain team focus on what is most important for customers.

• Strong UX Sensibilities: A passion for creating effortless experiences. You believe that complex data, reporting, and insights workflows should be intuitive, trustworthy, and beneficial for the end user.

• Outstanding Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can articulate complex data, reporting, AI, and compliance trade-offs to non-technical executives and clearly convey value to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Language: Business-level proficiency in both written and spoken English.

• Domain Expertise (nice to have): Familiarity with HR Tech, payroll, finance, compliance, or B2B SaaS products. You understand data models, reporting requirements, compliance constraints, and common workflow challenges within this domain.
