This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Drive adoption and impact: Collaborate closely with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams across the organization to enhance cross-product vertical AI/ML shared capabilities, promote adoption, and ensure value realization. Advocate for data science successes and capabilities, eliminate obstacles, and clearly communicate the impact of data science initiatives.

• Be customer-focused: Be passionate about identifying and addressing high-value challenges for internal stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Business Units) and external partners through the strategic use of data science. Work in tandem with Data Science and Engineering teams to define, develop, and deliver impactful models, features, and platforms that yield measurable business outcomes.

• Provide clarity: Address the inherent uncertainties in applying AI/ML by offering clear guidance on product strategy, prioritization of initiatives, and decisions regarding build vs. buy within your domain. Partner with technical leads to make informed trade-offs, supported by solid reasoning and analysis.

• Define product requirements: Collaborate closely with customers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to convert complex business needs and data science opportunities into clear, concise, and motivating requirements. Cultivate a deep understanding of the underlying data, models, systems, and user workflows to guide the iterative development of robust and scalable solutions.

• Be a leader: Set an example by fostering a collaborative atmosphere between Product, Data Science, and Engineering. Advocate for the strategic significance of data science and AI throughout the organization and identify opportunities for shared capabilities.

• Operate like an owner: Assume responsibility for the success of data science products and platforms from ideation through development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Embrace a "no job is too small" mindset to ensure the success of your products, the Data Science team, and Datavant.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess 5+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or engineering, ideally within the healthcare sector (or a similar industry) where security and compliance significantly influence design and development.

• You have a technical background and are willing to engage with the code when necessary to gain a better understanding. While you may not evaluate algorithms, you might be found deep in a notebook analyzing data, assisting with exploratory data analysis, or identifying the next opportunity for the team.

• You have prior experience in advancing shared capabilities, services, or owning a platform in your previous roles.

• You are highly organized and possess strong project management skills: others feel confident in a project's outcome when they know you are leading it.

• You demonstrate high bandwidth and productivity: others often wonder how you manage to accomplish so much. Your secret lies in your quick understanding, formulation, and response capabilities.

• You excel at writing exceptional documents, presentations, diagrams, and mockups. Your documentation sparks discussions about the content rather than the intended meaning.

• You are an effective communicator and possess the confidence to lead planning meetings with any individual or group within the company. You can convey strategies, rationales, and products in terms that resonate with each audience.

• You are dedicated and thrive when working at full capacity; your passion for your work drives you.

• You are motivated by achieving results. You are designed to both envision the big picture and take continuous steps toward that vision. You find neither vision setting nor execution satisfactory on its own; you seek both.

• You are a team player, always considering others' positions and understanding their motivations, needs, perspectives, and potential points of confusion.

• You are proactive in defining how the product should evolve and have a bias toward action.

🏝️ Benefits

• At Datavant, our total rewards strategy supports a high-growth, high-performance health technology company that recognizes our employees for transforming healthcare by creating industry-defining data logistics products and services.
