This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.
• Understand the platform and its users thoroughly.
• In the initial 90 days: delve deeply into the API by making test calls, reviewing documentation as a merchant would, and identifying all areas where integration may pose challenges.
• Engage directly with our largest merchants to discover their motivations for using our services.
• Chart the complete journey from the first API call to the initial live transaction, highlighting points where users may disengage.
• Take ownership of the API roadmap.
• Make informed decisions about new developments, discontinuations, and rejections (with courtesy).
• Manage pricing and packaging to ensure mutual success for both merchants and the company.
• Deliver products consistently while maintaining reliability.
• Oversee project delivery alongside Engineering, employing effective methodologies such as sprints and retrospectives.
• Increase the number of active merchants and the transaction volume processed through the API, backed by solid metrics.
• Maintain high standards for uptime, security, and compliance, recognizing that merchants trust us with their customers' funds—"mostly works" is not an option.
• Simplify the integration process (the Enablement aspect).
• Reduce the time to first transaction; faster merchant onboarding enhances the product experience.
• Create exceptional documentation, sandboxes, and support materials that minimize the need for merchant inquiries.
• Equip Sales, Solutions, and Support teams with the necessary tools to secure deals and ensure merchant satisfaction.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product development within payments, crypto, fintech, or B2B technology.
• Proven experience in owning an API or developer platform as a product, beyond merely managing tickets.
• A strong understanding of developer needs, with a design approach tailored to them.
• Data-driven decision-making skills: utilizing adoption metrics, feedback, and experimental results, while gut instincts also play a role.
• Ability to lead agile teams effectively and ensure smooth delivery amidst shifting priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate well with Engineering, Commercial, Legal teams, and partners.
• Capability to translate customer needs into actionable product offerings.
• Familiarity with custody, liquidity, stablecoins, or on/off ramps is a plus.
• Comfortable navigating compliance, risk, or regulatory frameworks in payments or crypto is advantageous.
• Experience with markets in Africa, LATAM, or Asia is a bonus.
