β’ Take full responsibility for the alerting experience from start to finish β including rule creation, setting thresholds, anomaly detection, routing, and notifications β ensuring it is robust for SREs while minimizing alert fatigue through intelligent grouping and signal-to-noise adjustments, allowing on-call engineers to trust alerts and focus on relevant data.
β’ Influence the application performance monitoring experience β including service maps, views on latency/error/throughput, and span analysis β to drive the workflow from "something's slow" to "here's the exact bottleneck," enabling engineers to quickly identify root causes.
β’ Manage the journey from sign-up to initial value realization β covering instrumentation, the first telemetry, and the first effective dashboard β thereby shortening time-to-first-insight across various language SDKs, collectors, and common frameworks, while accommodating power users who prefer to navigate independently.
β’ Establish an integrated approach to alerts, APM, metrics, traces, and logs, creating a cohesive investigation experience instead of disjointed tabs, effectively connecting the signal to the root cause.
β’ Focus on the critical details that matter to power users β including query speed, logical defaults, handling empty states, keyboard-driven workflows, and the frequent queries β making the exploration of high-cardinality, petabyte-scale data intuitive rather than daunting.

β’ A proven history of creating product-centric, user-experience-focused solutions β you are not merely a backlog manager; your passion lies in enhancing the actual user experience.

β’ Strong technical proficiency β you can interpret API documentation, analyze data and systems, and gain the respect of senior engineers.
β’ Excellent written communication skills β producing clear PRDs, concise trade-off analyses, and well-documented decisions for an asynchronous team.
β’ Comfortable working in a high-ownership, fast-paced, remote-first setting.
β’ Previous experience in a product team within a Series B+ startup.
β’ Familiarity with observability aspects such as monitoring, logging, and tracing.

β’ Opportunity to play a role in shaping the future of open-source observability.
