
Senior Product Manager, Genetic Genealogy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Spearhead ongoing product discovery by quickly prototyping, conducting customer interviews, and validating assumptions to test hypotheses prior to development.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to create a genetic genealogy platform, including the APIs, matching logic, and front-end components that will drive our products.
• Develop agents to merge historical and genetic data, offering new insights to our users.
• Create and communicate a vision for a cohesive experience that seamlessly integrates DNA insights with historical records, based on customer requirements and the latest advancements in genomic and genealogical data.
• Highlight significant family connections by merging our record artifacts' richness with the power of DNA.
• Direct UI/UX design efforts alongside your product designer to produce elegant, intuitive components that simplify the complexities of research through combined genetic and historical record sets.
• Work collaboratively with team members to turn your strategic vision into a product that can scale globally, taking into account local customer needs, cultural differences, and competitive landscapes.
• Partner closely with UX research and design, marketing, customer support, and legal teams to deliver consistent and swift value to customers.
• Quickly learn from both quantitative and qualitative feedback, adjusting strategies with flexibility based on these insights.
• Collaborate intimately with Senior Engineers to take ownership of the platform vision, use-case prioritization, and internal developer experience.
• Engage with our content experts and in-house genealogists to gain a comprehensive understanding of Ancestry’s content, which encompasses over 60 billion artifacts and user-generated trees.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in successfully delivering consumer products.
• A demonstrated history of developing recommendation systems at scale.
• Strong product discovery skills, showcasing the ability to interview users, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and work closely with UX design and engineering teams.
• Experience in constructing and utilizing agentic workflows throughout the product discovery process.
• A systems-thinking mindset, capable of managing significant complexity, navigating ambiguity, and bridging the gap between technical architecture and business strategy.
• Knowledge of agentic frameworks and experience in writing agents.
• Proven collaboration skills with Data Science, backend engineering, and UX design teams to create data-driven products that cater to millions of global users.
• Experience collaborating with UX to develop highly functional internal tools or reference components.
• Exceptional written communication, presentation, meeting management, and team-building skills.
• A resilient work ethic driven by data, with the capability to independently gather essential information for informed decision-making.
• Experience with experimentation to assess the impact of feature and algorithmic modifications, coupled with strong instincts for user experience.
• A bachelor's degree is mandatory; a master's degree and a background in STEM, particularly genomics, are advantageous.
